Tim Schutt

VP, Partner Success

Tim Schutt is an expert in the field of cloud and data center migrations. With more than 30 years of experience in various technology leadership roles, including 13 years at TDS as the Data Center Services Practice Lead, Tim has helped migrate data centers for some of the world’s largest organizations.

Over the past several years, Tim has led migrations teams for direct TDS customers and worked with many of our strategic partners, including VMware, IBM and AWS, to provide expert guidance on cloud and data center strategy, discovery and dependency analysis, application benchmarking and latency as well as overall data center migration program management. These projects ranged in size and complexity, usually including thousands of servers and hundreds to thousands of business applications, requiring complex discovery, dependency analysis and varying migration methods

Tim’s visionary approach to project collaboration and cloud / data center migration expertise were the building blocks behind TransitionManager, TDS’s platform built to orchestrate and accelerate complex IT transformations. Using TM, data can be collected, imported, validated and analyzed from a variety of different viewpoints and then leveraged to manage dependency mapping, analysis and dynamic run book creation.  In short, TransitionManager has revolutionized the manner in which cloud migration engagements are delivered, shortening customer’s planned outages by more than 35%, while virtually eliminating human error and drastically reducing project risk.

Prior to TDS, Tim worked for several start-up companies where he was responsible for managing IT Operations.  He managed and built the production infrastructure at a payment processing company focusing on small credit card transactions.  At AnyDay.com, Tim was responsible for integrating the company’s IT operations with Palm, post acquisition.  This involved management of technical operations groups in MA, CA and TX, and managing their data center consolidation.
